Description
Printed at 40% infill using polycarbonate
wheels at 40% TPU
print wheel blocks on side with supports.
bump stop gets printed with notch facing up.
To assemble, remove whole rear cover. Pins will need to be pressed out to remove old wheels. I usec a large quick clamp to ratchet them out using a screwdriver or punch. Push from inside to outside.
Install the block and then press fitting in the same orientation as before.
Install screws for back cover
Install roller skate bearings into housings and wheels. Placing a little super glue around the edges to hold them in place.
I used 5x 608 roller bearings per side. 10 total
1x 608 bearing for the outside of the tire
1x 608 bearing for the inside of the tire,
1x 608 bearing between wheel block and wheel as extra spacer.
2x 608 bearing bearings in block on both sides.
608 bearing inner diameter is 8mm or about 5/16" . So find a piece of all thread smaller then 8mm in diameter or 5/16" and cut into 80mm or 3 1/8" lengths
the bum stop that doubles as a cup holder that fits a regular yeti cup gets snugged underneath the lip with two screws through the case into it to try to secure it. I tried using jbweld or glue and it just never stuck. Also if ever breaks off makes it difficult to apply a new one. The lip on the block helps center the whole thing before screwing making aligment easy.
I used some nut caps and then used loctite on them.
I've been abusing this setup and my pelican case has about 30lbs of junk in it and they seem to hold up really well. Rolls really nicely and is quiet
TPU is recomenned for the tires. it helps absorb some shock when dropping curbs.
