You can spot the Mire Doctor easily; they're the one with the biggest, scariest hat and the most unpleasant ideas. You might laugh at the strange lookin' fella, but those stilts aren't just wood. The mangrove roots have fused with their legs, anchoring them to the very swamp itself. They’re the tribe's living high priest, halfway between the world of flesh and the world of wood. They aren’t just casting curses; they're channelling the collective, bitter memory of the entire swamp. Their family holds a grudge that stretches back three thousand years, and when this one curses you, he’s got his granddad and his great-granddad backing him up. They're the reason The Mire never forgets an insult.
