Description
My HID key fob started breaking, so before it completely fell apart, I wanted to make an enclosure for the functional side of the key fob. I also wanted to make sure that the enclosure was not too much larger than the original.
This repair requires you to carefully separate the HID ProxKey key fob in half. I used a bit of isopropyl alcohol to soften the glue holding the two pieces together.
The two parts of the enclosure click into each other to lock the key fob in place; it is quite difficult to pull apart once closed up.
I suggest printing in PETG, as the way the two parts click into each other requires a bit of flex.
I've used this enclosure for the last 3 months without issues.
