Parametric Modular Fish Tank Planter V2

🌿 Modular Corner/Long Planter & Tool Holder – Self-Watering

As spring brings new life, this fish tank-mounted planter blends gardening with aquascaping—growing plants using nutrient-rich aquarium water while naturally helping filter it.

The design now supports full OpenSCAD customization to fit a variety of tanks, tools, and planting needs. Simply drop the .scad file into OpenSCAD, use the Customizer panel, and choose between:

• Mount_Type = "Corner" (wraps around a tank corner)
• Mount_Type = "Long" (mounts along a straight edge)

The container is 100mm tall, perfect for semi-aquatic or terrestrial plants like pothos, basil, or lucky bamboo. Plus, the front-facing tool rack keeps your aquascaping scissors and tweezers right where you need them.

• Planter Dimensions: ~65x67mm internal footprint, 100mm height
• Tank Fit: Slides securely over 13.5mm tank glass edge
• Tool Holder: Holds common aquascaping tools like tweezers and scissors
• Dual Purpose: Encourages plant growth + filters fish tank water

Perfect For: Pothos, lucky bamboo, mint, basil, or philodendron

Parametric design for any configuration with modular parts! (Making progress! Pivoting to have an all encompassing Fish tank accessories models! Larger project than anticipated but it will be cool!)

✅ Usage Instructions

1. Open in OpenSCAD – All major measurements (pot size, tank thickness, mount type, holes) are parametric.
2. Set Mount_Type in the dropdown:
   • "Corner": mounts around the tank corner
   • "Long": mounts flat against the side
3. Print using PETG for water resistance
4. Hang over the tank rim – the mount clamps securely (no glue/screws needed)
5. Add your plants + tools – roots stay in water; tools rest on the rack
6. Watch your plants grow and help filter the tank in the process 🌱

📐 Default Dimensions

• Planter cavity: 65 × 67mm, 100mm tall
• Glass fit: Parametric; defaults to 20mm
• Tool rack: Holds scissors, tweezers, probes
• Drainage holes: Optional, configurable via hole arrays
