In-Shelf Fan Surrounds

These hexagonal housings mount a 120mm computer fan (or my dummy fan) in a shelf.  They're designed for the center shelf of an IKEA BILLY bookcase, but they should work in any 19mm thick shelf.

There are two versions.  Fan Housing Top and Bottom fit a 25mm thick fan and have a channel for the fan wire.  Dummy Top and Bottom fit a 19mm thick fan and have no wire channel.. 

You'll need to cut a hexagonal hole in the shelf.  A cutting guide is included.

I modeled this in Fusion 360.  I've included the CAD model in .f3z (Fusion 360 archive) and .STEP formats.  The fan surrounds are part of a large assembly in the CAD files.  Portions of the CAD files are from this source under whatever license GrabCAD uses.  Use the CAD files if you want to remix to a different sized fan or a different shelf.
