Hex Ball Bearing for 7/8" (22.22mm) Hexagonal Shaft

Bearings are mechanical components that reduce friction between moving parts and support rotational or linear motion. They allow shafts, wheels, or other parts to move smoothly while carrying loads. The most common bearing is the 608 ball bearing (commonly referred to as skateboard or rollerskate bearings)

This 3D printed bearing utilizes steel ball bearings (https://amzn.to/3Wplwkl, aff.) for reliable rotation. The outer shell, inner shell, and retainer is 3D printed. The original model is designed for a 7/8" or 22.22mm hexagonal shaft. The size of the ball bearings is 4.763mm in diameter. Feel free to modify the parametric Fusion design file or just DM me for help.

Print settings:

Supports: No

Brim: No, unless you will be printing mutiple copies (not using “sequential printing”)

Additional Settings: PETG (any rigid material is fine), 4 perimeters, 0.2mm layer height

• 4 perimeters is completely solid
  • You can make it weaker, but since the part is overall pretty small, I found that to be unnecessary.

Note: the seam (natural tendency of FDM 3D printing) may cause an unwanted vertical line on the finished model. Here are some potential solutions

• sand it down
• utilize “scarf-seams”
• ignore it

Of course, this is a 3D printed bearing intended for minimal load/speeds. It is intended for prototypes and proof-of-concepts. So please don't put it in a transmission system of a car or Spaceship ;)
