Here's the hard truth about the Mire: even the plants are bastards. You'll see these things, a tangle of vines and thorns. You'll think, 'I'll just walk around it.' Then the tangle will stand up. A Bog-Strangler isn't a complex predator. It's a carnivorous plant with the bare minimum of ambition needed to be a threat . It's got no brain, no eyes, just a deep, personal grudge against anything with a pulse. It won't outsmart you. It will just... strangle you. Slowly. A miserable, stupid way to die. A lesson: don't stop to admire the flowers; they're admiring you back and wondering how best to compost you.
