Here's a lesson the Mire teaches you fast: the "easy path" is always a trap. You'll be slogging through sucking mud for hours, and then you'll see this. A perfect, dry bridge. A gift, right? Wrong. It's a kill-zone. It's high ground, it provides cover, and it forces you into a single-file line. See those pygmies? They know. One hiding, two on top. They're just waiting for a crew of rookies to get halfway across before the poison darts start to fly. Never, ever take the obvious route in the Mire. Go around. Get your boots wet. It's better than getting a dart in the neck.
