Description
I wanted an enclosure for my Ener 3 pro to be able to better print ABS.
I needed a thermal blanket but that needed support so i designed the Longarms to hold the top.
The spool holder was an issue so i created a holder that would allow me to easily place the thermal blanket under the roll and add bearings to allow the spool to dispense freely.
print 4 of the long arms one of the roller support two of the bearing mounts and 2 rollers
put the roller support on first then the 4 long arms at the extremes of the top extrusion.
parts needed 4 608RS bearings.
i am still working on the enclosure frame and long arm supports more pictures comming.
with a UV camera you can monitor what is being printed without loosing your ambient heat
Printer Brand:
Creality
Printer:
Ender 3 Pro
Rafts:
No
Supports:
No
Infill:
100 % on the supports for strength
Filament:
any plaany
Notes:
Print 4 of the roller guides first and use a vise to press the 608RS bearings into the printed piece. make certain that the bearing is flush on all sides.
For the roller holder i pause the print and install the bearing assembly at the 13.1mm level before the print finishes, make certain that the bearins are all the way down and do not stick up above build.I added a place for a 4mm screw you and self tap the threads this insures the spool stays aligned.
I drilled a hole for a 4mm screw at a slight angle on the Bearing Mount that will lock it into place on the extrusion
For better printing i print the brackets and the arms rotated 90 degrees to avoid overhangs.
design steps
I did a trial and error fitting of the pieces to the extrusion. i used Fusion 360 then printed the first layer to check my layout and tweak the design.
