Description
The backplate is 2mm thick, so it won't cover the camera bump completely. Did that so it remains a bit flexible.
It is kinda tight if you use very rigid materials, might be a bit brittle and hard to take off.
# Print recommendations
1. only 2 top layers and 0mm top shell thickness
2. (optional) only 2 bottom layers and 0mm bottom shell thickness
3. slow down your outer wall print speed
4. use semiflexible materials, PLA works but is too stiff and hard to come off, I got the best results with PETG, PCTG, COPA and PA12, though engineering filaments have worse dimensional accuracy than PLA or PETG so results may vary.
30min to 1h print - 35g of filament.
Added fuzzy_project.3mf as a Orca project with fuzzy skin modifiers, for extra hand grip.
I did not test the fit on an A36. I don't have that phone, special thanks to @AdamOn_3964497 for pointing out the errors in V2. Some help here is appreciated, just leave a comment if it fits okay or a pic if it does not.
– Update V2:
Better fit overall, better hand feel and easier installation and removal
- Update V3:
Tighter overall fit, V2 tended to loosen up after a while and the machined sides started to scratch the printed walls. It was annoying.
I redone the project and uploaded the f3d Fusion360 files so anyone can tinker with the case design. I added a couple of variables that can be easily changed in the Modify menu.
