Description
Welcome to wagMo, the truely modular system for WAGO® connectors. No matter which electrical installation you want to tidy up, wagMo has you covered. May it be the square junction box mounted to a stud, the round cavity wall box hidden behind the dry wall or the connection in a ceiling lamp's base: wagMo provides an arragement that fits your needs.
…all while effortlessly keeping the kids busy playing.
wagMo is designed around the WAGO® 221-41x series. These clamps clip into their respective wagMo holder, each featuring three dove tails, one towards the WAGO® clamp's front and two towards its back. A plethora of accessory connectors allow to interconnect the wagMo holders to your heart's content.
Due to wagMo's modular nature, WAGO® 221-41x terminals of any x can be linked together side by side. Make it all the same x or mix and match, it all works. Horizontal connectors allow to expand in the horizontal plane, while vertical connectors do so vertically. Stiffener braces support especially the vertical firmness and axially designed fixation pins lock the wagMo assembly into place.
Horizontally connected wagMo holders are spaced such that the WAGO® 221-41x levers open and close without interference. The distance is kept at a minimum to guarantee the wagMo system fitting all common electrical boxes, while preserving enough space for wires to be routed.
Vertically connected wagMo holders are spaced such that at least 2.5 mm² (AWG 14) wires can be fitted in between. A deep (~60 cm) cavity wall box comfortably accepts two wagMo holders stacked vertically while preserving enought space below, between, and above the stack to route wires. A single layer high wagMo stack preserves enough depth for a light switch to be mounted on top.
All parts are designed to be printed…
For further details on exact print settings please refer to the “Slicer Settings” paragraph. wagMo cannot only be printed on FFM/FDM machines but also on SLA printers.
WAGO® 221-41x Holder: The wagMo system includes holders for the WAGO® 221-412 (left), 221-413 (middle), and 221-415 (right) terminals. Slicer settings: plain profile + no top solid layer
| The wagMo holders are designed such that the WAGO® terminals snap into place with a satisfying “click” sound. This confirms a WAGO® terminal's proper seating in its holder. | |
| The WAGO® terminal is held in place firmly. The latch up top keeps the WAGO® terminal from tilting and sliding out towards the front/top while the wagMo holder's alignment pin on the bottom restraints the WAGO® terminal from sliding out towards the side. | |
Dove Tail Connector: The dove tail connectors are meant to connect wagMo holders side by side if only a single row is needed. Slicer settings: plain profile + no top solid layer + wide brim
Horizontal Connectors: The horizontal connectors can be deployed to horizontally connect wagMo holders. The holders' orientation, so face to face, face to back, or back to back does not matter. Slicer settings: plain profile + infill modifyer + slim brim
Vertical Connectors: The vertical connectors allow to vertically stack wagMo holders. Two versions of the connectors exist: a slide-in (left) and a click-in (right) version.
Slicer settings: plain profile + infill modifyer + slim brim Tip: The click-in version is particularly well suited when the lower level of WAGO® terminals is already wired inside a cavity wall box, for instance, and a second level shall be added without having the space to slide in vertical connectors from the side.
Vertical Connectors B2B: If two instances of two rows of vertically stacked wagMo holders shall be connected to one another horizontally and facing back to back (b2b), the vertical connectors b2b may be deployed. Just as the plain vertical connectors, two versions of the vertical connectors b2b exist: a slide-in and a click-in version. For more information please refer to the plain vertical connectors' description. Slicer settings: plain profile + infill modifyer
Stiffener Braces F2B: The stiffener braces f2b (face to back) allow to stiffen up two horizontally connected wagMo holders that are oriented with the WAGO® terminals all facing the same direction. Slicer settings: plain profile
Stiffener Braces F2F: The stiffener braces f2f (face to face) allow to stiffen up two horizontally connected wagMo holders that are oriented with the WAGO® terminals facing one another. Slicer settings: plain profile
Fixation Pin Receiver 0 °: The 0 ° fixation pin receivers allow the fixation pins' axial movement to be aligned with the plane of the WAGO® terminal's face. Slicer settings: plain profile + slim brim
Fixation Pin Receiver 90 °: The 90 ° fixation pin receivers allow the fixation pins' axial movement to be rotated by 90 ° with respect to the WAGO® terminal's face. Slicer settings: plain profile + wide brim Tip: These pin receivers can also be used to directly screw the wagMo setup to a surface (e.g. a stud).
Fixation Pins: The fixation pins are designed such that they can axially slide in and out of their receivers. This allows for perfect adaption to any arbitrarily shaped surface and any space constraint. The friction between the pin and receiver locks the pin into place when not forcibly moved. The ball pins are cut flat on one side. This does not only serve printability but also allows to fit it snugly into tight corners. Slicer settings: fixation pins
Dove Tail 2 Dove Tail Adapter: If a single unit horizontal separation is not enough, the dove tail to dove tail adapter can be utilized to link two horizontal connecters together. This, of course, also works for any other connector type. Slicer settings: plain profile + no top solid layer + wide brim |

Infill modifyer: The infill modifyer geometry is available for all the components that need it. It can be added as a part to the component in question. Then, simply assign the modifyer part the infill attribute and set the latter to the desired values.
Brim: The brim attribute can be assigned to the component in question. Since the brim is rather tricky to remove from the intricate dove tail geometry, and is likely to leave residue hindering proper joining of parts, these sections will get exluded from the brim generation. Doing so is simple: Load the “brim blocker” modifyers as parts to the component in question. Then, assign the modifyer parts the following attributes:
Verifying that wagMo delivers its promises is key for a flawless user experience. Therefore many design iterations were printed and tested. The setup used:
…oh, and make sure the printer's build plate is cleaned properly. Polymer spaghetti prove to not be all that nutritious, even though they can look pretty, indeed.
All the wagMo parts got printed multiple times to ensure repeatable results. Proper functionality got verified and basic arangements were build. They also serve as examples of what is possible with wagMo.
…while dad is busy buttoning up the electrical work, mom (or vice versa) needs to somehow keep the kids busy to cook a quick lunch. Lucky her, the kids already found the pieces of wagMo dad dropped from the ladder and realized the potential for creativity and fun wagMo provides. From car to castle, the possibilities are endless.
