FlexPod - A better GorillaPod | Phone Tripod

A better, more convenient tripod. Made by a youngster on the Internet.

FlexPod is a compact, flexible 3D-printable stand designed for phones, small cameras, or lightweight gear. It uses a hybrid structure—rigid printed joints paired with bendable TPU or wire-reinforced legs—to grip, wrap, or anchor onto almost any surface. The design is lightweight, support-free, and easy to print on most hobby printers. FlexPod adapts to your workflow: tripod, desk stand, handle, or wraparound mount—all in one minimalist, portable form.

Materials Needed to 3D Print (aff. links support my work without you having to pay me!):

1. 95A TPU (can be a bit more/less flexible; 98A or 90A should also work)

2. Rigid Filament

3. m3 screws and nuts

4. m5 screws and nuts

5. Aluminum Wire 5mm Diameter

6. Wire Cutters

Instructions (to assemble tripod apparatus, the camera/phone mount not included)

1. Print out 3 of the legs in 95A filament (lay them with the flat side on the build plate)
   1. generic settings: 0.2mm layer height, 15% infill, 2 perimeters
2. Print out 1 of the bottom base in rigid filament (PLA, PETG, PCTG, ABS, etc)
   1. generic settings: 0.2mm layer height, 15% infill, 2 perimeters
3. Slide in the Aluminum Wire into one TPU leg/sleeve
4. Trim the Aluminum Wire, Cutting small bits each time, in a circular motion
5. Repeat 3 & 4 for all 3 of the legs
6. Assemble the Bottom Base by inserting nuts into the designated hex-nut slots
   1. m3 and m5 nuts - the m3 nuts are smaller
7. Screw in the TPU legs to the Bottom base using m3 screws
8. screw in the m5x20 screw into the nut from the bottom
9. insert an m5 nut into the top base
10. screw the top base to the bottom base
11. DONE! (customize the top base to your own needs, or print out a phone clamp!
