Desiccant spool holder for filaments

Why?

A whole lot of people like to put desiccant in a small cylinder box fitted inside the filament spool core, then put everything in a vacuum bag and hope for the best. For sure, one adds a sensor directly on silica and enjoys “super low humidity”, even though the filament itself is separated from the desiccant with the spool, and the humidity in that air pocket is actually much higher.

This model is a take on one more “universal” desiccant holder to be fitted directly on the filament on the spool side. The shape and size allow for good compatibility with different types of spools and any amount of filament left on them.

Features

• High compatibility with most spools. The box is 52 mm tall, meaning it can fit even a bit of non-standard spools narrower than 60 mm
• “Thin” design to increase the surface area instead of increasing the volume
• Easy friction-based closing mechanism for the cap

How to print:

• PLA / PETG / anything
• 0.2 mm layer or smaller
• No supports
