Piper Cub Airplane

Small scale model of a Piper Cub airplane. I used plans and photos off the internet. 

Building Instructions and tips:

1. Print all the pieces first. The pieces should be printed in the orientation from the files. Use supports where needed. 
2. After the exhaust and air filter are installed cut the pipes off at an angle. 
3. I had a lot of trouble getting the cab to print correctly so that's why the extra material is added underneath. Just cut off and sand it flat. The area for the landing gear needs to be notched out so the landing gear will sit in the cab flush with the bottom.
4. Draw half of the windscreen on a sheet of paper then fold it in half and cut out the pattern. Get yourself a cake box, then cut out the windscreen from the clear plastic on the top of the box. 
5. Use a short piece of filament for the prop shaft. I glued it in then melted the end so the prop can spin but not fall off.
6. I used black 3M film for the letters but I think black electrical tape might work too.
7. I used super glue to hold everything together. Sand the edges on the ailerons and the rudder pieces a little before gluing to give it some detail. 
8. The model does not have a tail wheel; it was just too small to print.
9. This plane will not fly so don't say I didn't warn you.
