Description
Presenting a fierce and majestic dragon head bust, designed with sharp, geometric lines for a striking low-poly appearance. This model is engineered for easy FDM 3D printing with minimal supports. The intricate details, including the horns, scales, and glowing eye sockets (if you plan to add LEDs or paint them), make it a standout piece. It is recommended to print this model at a slower speed for the best detail resolution.
Printer Type: FDM (Fused Deposition Modeling)
Material: PLA (Polylactic Acid) is highly recommended for its ease of printing and good detail retention. PETG can also be used for increased durability.
Nozzle Diameter: 0.4mm (standard)
Layer Height: 0.16mm - 0.2mm for a good balance between detail and print time. For finer details, you can go as low as 0.12mm.
Infill: 10-15% (Cubic or Gyroid pattern recommended for good strength-to-weight ratio).
Supports:
Support Placement: From build plate only (for the chin/jaw area).
Support Overhang Angle: 55-60 degrees.
Support Density: 10-15% (tree supports can also work well).
Minimize supports where possible, as the model is designed to be relatively self-supporting.
Print Speed: 40-50 mm/s (for outer walls, consider reducing to 20-30 mm/s for higher quality and detail).
Bed Temperature: 50-60°C (for PLA).
Nozzle Temperature: 200-210°C (for PLA, adjust based on your filament).
Brim/Raft: Not typically required if your bed adhesion is good, but a small brim (3-5mm) can be added for extra stability if needed.
Orientation: Print the bust upright as oriented in the file for best results.
Post-Processing:
Carefully remove any supports.
Sanding and painting can further enhance the details and bring the dragon to life.
