Object Description:
This is a handle for an electric drill machine, drill hammer, etc. with a 43mm diameter standard connection.
By turning the grip the handle will be clamped to the drill machine and the stopper will be clamped in position.
Comments:
- Grip
- With regard to safety reasons I designed the grip in two halfs. A print in this orientation provides much more strength and safety as a single print in upright position and it allows an easy insertion of the nut.
- Considering that different nut heights are available on the market, the slot for it is 1mm longer as necessary. The small height reduction by printing without supports is also considered in the design.
- The grip diameter is slightly bigger than usual and for this reason very comfortable also for big hands.
- Melt the thread inserts into the one grip half. After that remove the protruding material to get a flat surface again.
- Insert the plugs before screwing the two halfs together. They will be precisely positioned by the plugs. Don't forget to insert the nut ;-)
- Stopper
- The stopper has markings every 5mm and can be inserted and clamped in two positions. Your choice.
- The distance from clamp center to the stopper is 37,5mm. This should be fine for most machines. Please check it before printing.
- I recommend to print the 40mm long testpiece first to find the best fit. If it fits too tight, scale it down by 1% in Y and Z-direction and repeat this procedure until you are satisfied with the result.
- The stopper can be printed in two colors with a single extruder printer. The provided file includes the color change codes already.
- Washer
- Please note that the plastic washer has a short step. Look at the photos how to insert.
- I provide several models of the washer with different step heights from 0 - 0,8 mm.
- Start with 0mm (flat nut) and increase the height until the stopper will be properly clamped in the upper position.
