Description
Please note, this model is intended to be printed as a SOLID part for optimal strength. It won't fit on the buildplate of the Centauri Carbon unless you split it up.
This model allows you to easily change the position of the lid to vent or enclose the printer. It sits in the recess for the lid on top of the machine and can be easily removed at any time. The upper shelf will allow the printer to vent, while the lower one will seal it again. You will need some 1mm thick foam tape to go around the edges to prevent the glass from scraping on the riser (link below). This also helps mute any vibration from the glass lid.
In my testing it's done a great job of keeping the heat in and I've run dozens of ABS prints with it without issue. Ventilation for PLA/PETG is likewise pretty good, I've had no issues with these materials.
Print Settings:
* Material: I printed this in Polymaker HT-PLA-GF for heat resistance. You could probably get away with using PETG due to the low thermal exposure the part experiences, but something like ABS, ASA or HT-PLA would be more ideal.
* Nozzle: 0.4 or 0.6
* Walls: 3+
* Top/Bottom Layers: 4-5
* Infill: Any
* Supports: Yes (around the bottom edge only)
Other components:
* Foam tape for the shelf edges to keep them from rubbing on the glass: (10mm x 1mm)
