Description
I really loved Lee Taylor's design for the slow feeder. I am very grateful that he included the STEP files so I could open it in Fusion and check that the dimension fit the DF64V. They did, more or less.
I haven't gotten the parts from Amazon yet but Lee did a phenomenal job designing this part so I'm pretty sure I'll have no problem putting it together when they come in.
I wanted to make a small cosmetic modification by added some ribs to the hopper thinking it would add a little bit of grip and also hid the layer lines of the print. I think it looks awesome now (not that it didn't before) because you cannot even tell it's 3d printed anymore in my opinion.
I printed the parts and did a dry fit and just didn't love that the feeder sat below the bellows because in my tests, the bellows couldn't really move air through the grinder in this orientation. I fired up Fusion again and just made some very minimal modifications so that the feeder could sit above the bellows. I just extended the bottom cover to fit the contour of the bellows. I also found it unnecessary to use the included bellows ring in my remix but I did need to widen the hole on the top lid a tad so that the lid to my DF64v could fit inside the hole.
I included a STEP files of my modifications in the spirit of Lee's generosity. Thanks again, Lee.
