Description

When cabling the Little Monster's logic board it's a pain in the a** that you have to lead the cables through the holes in the back of the board's enclosure, meaning that the enclosure is always in the way and can't be taken off while you work on the logic board. I went through this procedure once when I built in the original MKS board, but when I changed to a Duet 2 Wifi, I didn't want to have that hassle once more. So I designed these flexible frames to make life easier.

The frames (2 pieces) have to be printed using TPU filament. It doesn't matter what kind of TPU you use - anything from Shore A60 to D75 can be used. So you can even use PA (not PA-CF) as a substitute. Accordingly, the amount of print infill can be varied from 100 for very soft TPU to zero for very hard TPU (or PA).

To use the frames you have to cut away the tin underneath the original holes like this:

This can be done with a cutting wheel (Dremel) or a jigsaw. It's advisable to sand the edges (Dremel as well) after cutting.

Now you can freely cable the board (with the enclosure put aside) and then bundle the cables in the two frames. Finally, grab the board enclosure, slide the frames into its back wall, and screw the enclosure to the Printer's top plate.

If you own a Little Monster you may want to keep an eye on my designs as I'm currently uploading parts for that printer successively.

This is one essential part no Little Monster should be without!
