Description
Inspired by Destiny the video game and unsatisfied with the existing Hunter Knife 3D models out there, I decided to make my own, working as faithfully to the game art as possible and finally coming up with a model I was happy to print, finish, and display on my wall.
The 3D model has been split up to provide the best orientation to print some of the details. It will require some support material for the handle and the hole in the blade.
To assemble, and to give the replica a nice weight, you'll need some steel rods that will act as alignment pins to fit the model together when gluing up. The tips of the blade and the gut hook will be thin and potentially fragile, so I recommend applying some super-glue to the surface of those areas to reinforce the print and then sand to a nice finish.
Parts List:
Approx. 3.6mm diameter steel rod cut into 5 sections at the following lengths:
55mm long
95mm long
185mm long
140mm long
65mm long
If you wish to check out how I designed, printed, and finished my version of this model, see my blog post here.
