Macloud Highlander Sword

This is a replica of a replica sword. It is not , however , from the movie The Highlander starring Christopher Lambert. Other sword replica company's refer to this sword as coming from the original Highlander movie and states that it is the one that Conner Macloud left as a grave marker on his wife grave but it is nothing like the original prop used in the movie. The only thing that is correct is the fact that they both say Macloud on the cross guard. I have added a picture of the original prop that was sold by the prop store over ten years ago and a picture of this sword replica that Christopher Lambert signed and you can tell they are nothing like each other. If you know how this sword got confused with the original prop please let me know. That being said, this is a nice sword and I think looks great. I printed the handle out of wood PLA because it matched the pictures well. I also wrapped it with wire for the realistic look, but you could use some filament to wrap it also and I think that would look fine. A lot went into this print and it was very difficult at times. It is not perfect, there are some gaps in the cross guard that I had a hard time with, but you could fill them in with bondo or some kind of filler before you paint it. I used black hammered spray paint on the cross guard then some silver rub and buff on top of that to get the look I wanted. Silver spray paint on the pummel, handle tip and blade. Please let me know what I might have gotten wrong and let me see your prints. I will be working on a screen accurate version in the future.
