Description
Here is one that has taken me months to get right. These are the Man with No Name trilogy snakes that are on Clint Eastwood's guns. I have not been able to find a good, movie-accurate set of these. You can order a set on Amazon and even wal-Mart .com but they are nowhere near accurate.
(What You Should Know About The Snakes Being Sold On The Internet
You will see leather makers, Internet companies, and even other grip makers claiming they are selling “exact” copies of the snakes that were on Clint Eastwood’s revolvers. Sorry, this is not true. If you do your research, you can find a few images on the internet of Clint holding the guns. Yes, they are a touch blurry, but you can clearly see how different his snakes are from the ones being sold on the Internet. The biggest differences are that Clint’s snakes have a long, straight tongue and a J-shaped tail with round rattles.) https://classicsingleaction.com
I think that I got them as close to the original as a 3D printer can get. As soon as I get a 2mm nozzle for my printer, I am going to try these again. Make sure to print them standing up. I know that it seems that it would be better with no supports, but you lose a lot of the detail when it is on its back. Make sure that you have good bed adhesion. If you are using a bed slinger printer, slow the print down so that the motion of the printer does not mess up the print. I am going to glue them on an extra set of handles so I can swop out with others later. Also, make sure to heat them from the back so you can form them to the handles. If you heat them from the face, you might melt out the detail in them. Be very careful at this point, don't heat it too much, just enough to bend it on the handle. I used my P1S with a 4mm nozzle and tree supports with top Z distance at 0.4mm, and it turned out pretty good. Please send me pictures if you print them out. If you like what you see, please follow me and give what print you like a like. Let me know if you have any ideas of what you would like me to make and I will try to make it. Thank you for looking at my design. If you like what I make and would like to support me so that I can make more models like this, you can always buy me a coffee at www.buymeacoffee.com/LindsayReplica I would appreciate any support you can give, no matter how large or small. Thank you very much.
