Description

NOTE if you would like a similar system with a printed rail - click HERE.

I made this rail one day when I was in a bit of a hurry, to make a place to hang all my woodworking templates.   I had a metre and a half old bullnosed architrave getting in the way, so ran a quick router groove down the back of it and madly started printing hooks.

The hooks seem ridiculously slender, and I have kept them to 12mm (.5 inch) wide, but they do hold quite bulky templates from time to time.

I printed mine out of PLA with three perimeters and only 15% infill and have not had a break in well over a year of use.

If you wish to build a rail like this - the sketch below will give a rough idea of the shape - I'd recommend printing a hook first just to check clearances before you do a batch of fifty!
