A cool accessory :)
Printing and Assembly Process:
- Decide what size filament knob you're looking for.
- Small - 30 mm diameter
- Large - 30 mm diameter
- Slice the appropriate files
- I'd print the knob file in a neutral color (white, black, gray) with supports only under the spool bracket at the top of the knob
- I'd print the filament file in a fun, colorful filament for exciting contrast
- Assembly
- The parts have built-in tolerances, and simply snap together (no glue required)
- Snap the filament onto the knob spool bracket
- Snap the free bracket into the filament assembly from the previous step
- Enjoy your fun accessory!
***keywords:
- “knob” files consist of two parts
- The “knob spool bracket” which is the taller of the two, consisting of half the filament spool attached to the actual encoder knob
- The “free bracket” which is the shorter of the two, and is just half of the filament spool
- “filament” files are only one piece, and slide between the two spool brackets.
Don't hesitate with feedback, remixes, and makes. Hope you enjoy and happy printing!
