This project is a fully 3D-printable pair of pliers designed in FreeCAD as part of a university assignment for a course in 3D Design and Printing. The model includes two articulated arms with a flat spring, also printed in PLA, allowing the pliers to automatically open after each squeeze.

The design went through several iterations to refine the hinge tolerances, improve the geometry of the handles, and optimise the behaviour of the spring. The final version is simple, functional, and ideal for anyone wanting to explore articulated mechanisms in 3D printing.

The model consists of:

– left arm
– right arm
– pivot piece

To assemble, align the two plier arms and insert the pivot piece in the correct orientation (curved opening facing upward). No screws or metal components are required.

Este projeto consiste num alicate totalmente imprimível em 3D, desenvolvido no FreeCAD como parte de um trabalho académico de Design e Impressão 3D. O modelo inclui duas peças principais articuladas e uma mola plana também impressa em PLA, permitindo abertura automática após cada aperto.

O design passou por várias iterações até chegar à versão final, com melhorias na articulação, tolerâncias, ergonomia dos cabos e funcionamento da mola. É um projeto simples, funcional e ideal para quem quer explorar mecanismos articulados em impressão 3D.

A montagem é simples. O modelo é composto por:
– duas metades do alicate
– pivô de união

Basta encaixar o pivô no centro das duas peças principais e colocar a mola na posição indicada (orientada para cima, em abertura). Não necessita de parafusos ou peças metálicas.
