CASA Revision 3 — Alpha Release
This is an alpha release, meaning the design is still untested and actively evolving. Just like earlier early-access stages for other Milo projects, this alpha provides CAD files only while we continue refining everything for stability, compatibility, and ease of assembly.
A full, free, open-source release will follow once the design has been validated.
The final release will include:
complete assembly documentation
print lists and sourcing guides
hardware & compatibility notes
community-driven refinements and improvements
If you’re excited to experiment, test, or provide feedback, the alpha is ready for you now.
If you’d prefer a polished, fully supported experience, the complete free upgrade package is on the way.
CASA Revision 3
CASA is a little home for your Millennium Milo CNC machine (versions 1.4, 1.5, 1.6, and V2), and Revision 3 delivers the largest set of quality-of-life improvements the enclosure has ever seen.
Mono or Split Frame — Your Choice
CASA R2 introduced a split frame so each half could fit through a standard doorway—great for users in tight workspaces and helpful during transport.
But split frames come with tradeoffs:
• reduced rigidity
• more extrusions
• a larger BOM
CASA R3 now offers an optional mono frame that removes the split, resulting in higher rigidity, fewer extrusions, and a simpler build overall.
This also enables many previously multi-piece panel sections to be replaced with larger single panels, reducing the total panel count.
Almost all R2 panels and extrusions remain compatible—except for the two redesigned basement panels.
Basement Redesign — Simpler, Stronger, Smarter
R2 used angled panels that funneled chips into a central channel, but the idea added height, filament usage, and instability, and required many unique printed parts.
CASA R3 replaces this with a flat, single-panel basement:
chips collect evenly
structure is more stable
only two unique 3D-printed parts are required
filament usage drops by over 1 kg
A simpler solution with better real-world performance.
Panel Clip Overhaul — Fewer Screws, Less Weight
The panel clip system got a big upgrade:
roughly half of the M3x10 cap screws have been removed from ~80% of clips
many clips have been hollowed out to reduce weight
overall filament usage for CASA R3 drops by around 1.5 kg
assembly frustration drops substantially
Small changes, huge improvements.
Sliding Door Upgrade
The sliding door now incorporates a clever community mod from Kaddeh, adding two tiny bearings that help the door glide smoothly and consistently.
A subtle but delightful improvement.
Electronics Updates + Optional Gridfinity Drawers
Electronics have been updated to match the new Universal Electronics Box (available free on our Printables page).
We’ve also added an optional upgrade:
magnetically attachable, Gridfinity-compatible drawers that replace the small front panel. Perfect for storing tools, accessories, and your never-ending supply of endmills—
you little gremlin.
