Description
After looking to various filament storage options I decided on the Regalux 20 liter boxes available at, among other places, Bauhaus. These are slightly smaller (and cheaper) then the comparible and well-known Ikea Samla 23 liter boxes.
I chose these because I didn't need the extra height of the Samla box. And these fitted perfectly in the Billy bookshelf I was using to store them (at the time). 2 boxes fit on a 80cm shelf. 6 shelves per cabinet.
Looking for a solution to have at lease a decent seal on them I found Canislupus' design really good. So I've adapted it for the Regalux boxes.
To create a air tight seal for cheap on these boxes I use some 9x6mm soft seal strips I found on Ali: https://nl.aliexpress.com/item/1005008380318315.html
These compress really well because of the hollow bit in the middel, and the 6mm height ensures that the box is also sealed on the short edge, wher I cannot use the same clip because of the original closing mechanism.
The seal is made of really soft (and problably also easy to damage) material, so I put them in the lids where they sit more protected then on the edge of the boxes. The small piece on the 3rd photo is just to show the dimentions of the seal.
A strip of thin double sided tape (40x30mm, see last photo) is enough to attach the clips to the box. It's a tight fit, so you can't use those foam-like tapes.
Printed in black GST3D PLA .20mm on mostly default settings.
Only changes are infill to gyroid and perimeters increased to 3.
