Description
Vision Australia recommended we upgrade a smart TV to one of the newer ones with voice control but you still need to operate the remote to have it listen, and for power/volume.
The LG Magic Remote (R-C-LGE-MR25GA) that ships with LG's 2025 TV models has small markings so I made this sleeve to restrict the available buttons to the necessary ones for power, the AI button you need to press before talking to the TV, and the power/channel/mute rockers.
It prints in two parts, vertically, and does use supports. To assemble, slide the remote into the top one, then slide the shorter lower part up and the clips will snick into holes in the sides. Removal is as easy as lifting those two clips slightly then reverse the process.
This is my first pass at this so we'll see how it goes. Feedback from daily use may well lead to revisions.
The yellow one in the photos is printed in PETG, the black is PLA. I was trying different levels of fuzzy skin for the external surfaces. I've attached a project file with the settings for the yellow, including the embossed "TV" which is a note mostly for carers to explain what this thing is for if found. I chose the contrasting yellow which should make it hard to lose, and easy to locate the required buttons. I've included a loop for adding some cord for hanging it - I had an old lanyard we've used for this.
