Description
This is Wallfinity, the universal Gridfinity wall mounting solution.
The purpose of this project is to provide a universal, adjustable, and mostly reusable system for mounting Gridfinity onto walls. Most systems have a few fixed solutions for mounting Gridfinity and are not very scalable. This system uses fully 3D printed interlocking pieces to mount the Gridfinity baseplate to any system.
Core Ideas
Wide rail backplates allow us to adjust the Gridfinity baseplate pitch to the pitch of any mounting system.
Fully 3D printed interlocking components make the system easily expandable.
Each component is designed to be easily printable with zero overhangs.
Baseplates and trusses are fully reusable between each system. The only thing that changes between any mounting solutions are the backplates/hooks.

Guides / Documentation
To reduce confusion, this is the naming convention that everything follows:
Print Guide
Baseplates
There are light and skeletonized variants. If you don't need magnets, go with the light variant as it saves a ton of printing time.
All sizes from 2x2 to 5x5 are available.
Trusses
Trusses come in 0.1mm and 0.15mm tolerances; this is the only component (outside of the hooks) for which tolerance will need to be considered. I recommend printing two small trusses to check how they fit. It should be a friction fit but removable if necessary.
The 5mm trusses are used for the ends, while the 10mm trusses are used to connect two baseplates.
Note: A 4-deep baseplate does not necessarily require a 4-deep truss, depending on your load. With ligher loads, leaving a few open spaces is structurally fine while making the front more open and accessible.
Backplates
Dovetail Rail:
This is the general use case backplate for most systems, and this is what lets us adjust the pitch of the grid to the pitch of the wall mount. Consider the pitch of your wall mounting solution to pick how wide a rail to print.
Skadis / Slotted: 48mm
US Peg Board: 1.35in / 1.5in
etc...
Some of the systems do not require the dovetail backplate and have their own dedicated backplates. This includes:
Louver / Slat Wall
Screw Mount
Tape Mount
(Sometimes Optional) Hooks.
If your backplate is a dovetail rail, then you will need to print the appropriate mating hook. These also come in 0.1mm and 0.15mm tolerances, so do a test print before printing too many.
The HSW "hooks" use the insert-empty fasteners.
Recommended Print Orientations:
Note: I will be adding my F3D files soon, there's a lot of files that need to be organized.
