If you need to draw big circles this tool come handy. (the circle drawer shown in the picture is the prototype. This works for me, but I made some improvements for the public)
Additional hardware
2x M5 heat set inserts (~1cm long)
M5 screw with hex cap
M5 washer
M5 nut
M5 threaded rod in desired length you want to draw your circle (30cm is mostly enough for kitchen sink)
nail ~ 1mm thick (mine was 1.25mm)
pencil smaller than 1cm in diameter (e.g. an ikea pencil)
Print instructions
0.2 base layer height (optional: activated variable layer height for faster printing)
3 perimeters
5% grid infill
PLA is good enough (I used prusament PLA jetblack)
I used 0.6 line width to speed print up
print all parts one time, except the knob thingy must be printed 2 times
knobs: I used the “fuzzy skin” for outer shell feature in prusaslic3r, not mandatory, but nice
Assembly
put inserts into both blocks (see picture for reference, do this first, otherwise 2. will be annoying)
cut top of the nail and put it into the tiny hole. Perhaps you can warm up the nail to melt it into the block or if it to loose use superglue to secure it. This can be a bit tricky, but it will work
put knob onto the screw, fit is a bit tight…
screw the hex screw into the block with the nail
put the nut into the other knob
screw the knob onto the rod, nut should face into screwing direction
put washer on the rod
screw rod into the pencil block
put pencil and tightener piece through the hole and secure it with the rod (first time doing this is a bit fiddly, this needs a bit training )
secure the block with the “knob-nut” so block didn't rotate
put the other block onto the rod
adjust size of desired radius withe a ruler and then secure it by tighten the screw
I'm interested in your feedback to improve my stuff! So give me likes, post makes, comment and rate the print to show others and me how well it goes. If you post a make, let me know which filament you use.
If you want to support me by donating a coffee go to https://ko-fi.com/antimaterie I would really happy about it. The money will be invested in all stuff regarding 3d printing to give more and better quality models.
In general my Prints are not for commercial use, but if you a print farm owner and want to sell some of my stuff, please contact me.
