Filamentalist No-Drill Cereal Container Dry-Box Enclosure

After trying several different solutions for my filament spool dry-box enclosure needs, I decided to design my own. I really liked the Ultimate Cereal Box Enclosure system by @GunplaMark, but wanted the reliability of the Filamentalist for my retraction needs.  I also wanted a more easily manageable system of cereal-container dry boxes that I could mount a number of different ways.   Here are some of the features of this system:

• Compatible with commonly available in North America cereal dry boxes (like this one from amazon (no affiliate links): https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07NP98YKY )

• Can act as an efficient sealed individual drybox for a spool using the filamentalist passive rewinder spool and attaches to their 2020 rail mount

• Holds either rectangular or circular hygrometers for easy viewing

• Has several mounting options (3 base M3 mount holes for fastening to rails, or a back mount to attach to multiconnect (supports opengrid and multiboard mounting options)

• Uses the gasket in the cereal box top to ensure a better seal

• Allows them to be efficiently stacked next to each other while mounted to something

• Supports either PC4-M10 or ECAS04 PTFE tube attachment components

• Fits on a normal prusa/bambu build plate for all components

• Has an optional mount that sits on top of a Voron for easy slide-on/off access

• Has a holder for visible filament ID tags

• Has an optional basket for easy dessicant management inside the container

This is a customizable openscad model that uses the BOSL2, and bosl2-parts libraries.

Hardware:

• 1x M3 Brass Insert (for Filamentalist mount)

• 1x M3 8mm Screw (for Filamentalist mount)

• 2x M3 30mm Screws (for hinges), or 45mm (if using a tag holder)

• 2x M3 nuts (for hinges)

• 1x PC4-M10 or ECAS04 coupler

• (optional) M3 screws for mounting the bottoms

• Re-use the gasket from the top of the cereal box

Printing/Assembly Notes:

• Extra side and top layers may improve airtight seals depending on your printer quality.

• The Hygrometer holders are the only part intended to need support material.

• The filament tag holder must be assembled after printing (slide the two nubs into the slots on the main holder's back end

Update 2026-01-03 -- Added a basket to hold dessicant (basket.stl)  with an optional funnel to easily pour to/from (basket_funnel).  Also added a tag holder (tag_holder) that can be placed on the hinge and is compatible with the tags used by other systems as well for filament tags being displayed on either side.

Update: 2025-12-24 -- Added 80/20 slide in Voron case mount, improved ECAS04 fit, support round hygrometers with different angles
