Description
Why is there yet another Internal spool mod?
For one simple reason: This one doesn't require a panel spacer
And since the space inside is very limited it uses a latch to hold the spool from the inside, this was tested with elegoo cardboard spools. There also is a left-hand threaded section to be able to contain other spools that might not fit.
To release the filament spool, you need to press down on the button which will retract the latch.
For the assembly the only thing that is really important is to have 16mm screws for the red areas:
Supports mounting holes for this drybox spool holder, you need to replace the M5x20 SHCS with M5x14 SHCS
Materials
2 M3x8 FHCS
2 M3x16 BHCS or SHCS
4 M3x(8-16) BHCS or SHCS
Some sort of lube
Print settings
Print as oriented
3 walls
0.2mm layer height
0.4mm line width
Seam position: aligned
Scarf seams: off
Orient top and bottom walls to travel movement for less friction
(my settings are:
- Solid infill rotation template: 0,45,90,135
- Align infill to model off)
For best performance print out ASA. PETG works too but will need more lube. Avoid PLA and PA
