Description

Another school project for the CAD course, wanted to make a nutcracker because I'm fascinated by the toy. Since this is a simple school project i have decided to make this public domain so do feel free to tinker around with it if you'd like. the step and fusion 360 files are also available.

Do note that the model is quite small, you could probably print it all on one plate if you want, but that also means he probably won't be cracking any nuts, maybe sunflower seeds? or you could print it bigger and try it with a walnut, give the jaw some extra outer layers then and some extra infill. If you manage to make one that cracks a nut please let me know! would be very cool.

The arms are clips and should be able to rotate. print them accordingly.

The head and jaw is also intended to be printed up side down, additionally the arms, head and jaw needs the automatic tree supports when sliced in order to deal with the overhangs.

The assembly is quite simple, attached to the files is now also a simple assembly instruction along with a part guide. bellow is also a simple written instruction in the even that someone might need it.

Assembly: Start by adding a tiny dab of CA glue in each of the leg pinholes. then push in the legs, making sure to keep the feet forward and the larger gap in the body to the back. depending on how the print went there might be just enough tolerance to force them in or they'll slip in with ease. then slide in the Jaw into the jaw grove located at the neck of the body. Once the jaw is in place you can put CA glue in the pinholes for the head, after which you can push in the head. After the head is attached you can simply push in the arms into the holes and they should snap into place with ease.
