Description
To make this model easier to print, the PLA parts can be made in a separate batch from the TPU and assembled later. Or, if you have a multi-filament printer, print them together. I recommend supports for just the main clamp arm for areas touching the printer bed if printed without the caps.
NOTE: The latest STL files have been scaled to metric for easy loading in your slicer.
There are two STL files of the Caps. One is in the same alignment and position of the clamp body that can be combined for single filament prints. The other is rotated in a position that will aid printing and centered for those who want to make them out of TPU.
There is also a version of the clamp with the caps for all in one printing in a single filament type.
The blue track shown is the correct one for the hardware shown.
If TPU is used for the clamp ends load the STL with the ends rotated and center. If you want to manipulate the ends that are in the STL in the clamp body position, I found that bringing them open end to the printer bed was the best. To do this rotate one of the ends 90 degrees. The other end needs to be spun 30 degrees, then rotated 90 degrees. Doing it this way eliminates the need for supports and allows them to slide on nice and tight without any garbage TPU on the inside.
