Description
This model is a panel or bulkhead fitting for two anderson 45A powerpole pairs. It is sized to fit in a 33mm hole in an panel up to 12mm thick. A cap is provided for protection when not in use
I printed the Body1 part with the shorter threaded length at the bottom and using supports from the build plate. Two versions of the cap component are included. One is smooth, the other is ribbed for easier grip.
The threads are nominally M33x2. You may need to gradually work them in after printing to smooth them out, depending on your printer. The socket for the powerpole pair has ribs to retain the pairs. There is also a provision for pinning the pairs in place with a length of 1.75 filament or a 2mm pin. You may need to chase the hole with a 2mm drill for easier passage.
Powerpole pairs may be easier to insert if individual pieces are slightly offset to allow one side to engage the rib before the other. As the first piece engages the rib it allows a bit more room for the other piece to get by the opposite rib. If the pair is difficult to snap into place, you can lightly trim the retaining ribs in the socket to ease assembly. If you trim too much, just use the "pin in place" option.
When installing, you will probably want to use a layer of RTV or silicon sealant to improve waterproofing.
