Description
This model is a shorter version of the no-flange panel fitting for a single anderson 45A powerpole pair. It is sized to fit in a 30mm hole in an panel up to 6mm thick. A cap is provided for protection while not in use. This version does not have a flange for mounting, using two nuts instead. This may make mounting easier in some instances.
Components should be printed in their native orientation. The Body model should be printed using supports from the build plate. The Cap model is ribbed for an easier grip. Print 2 copies of the Nut model.
The threads are nominally M30x2. You need to gradually work them in after printing to smooth them out after trimming any excess material. The socket for the powerpole pair has ribs to retain the pair. There is also a provision for pinning the pair in place with a length of 1.75 filament or a 2mm pin. You may need to chase the hole with a 2mm or 2.5mm drill.
Powerpole pairs may be easier to insert if individual pieces are slightly offset to allow one side to engage the rib before the other. As the first piece engages the rib it allows a bit more room for the other piece to get by the opposite rib. If the pair is difficult to snap into place, you can lightly trim the retaining ribs in the socket to ease assembly. If you trim too much, just use the "pin in place" option.
When installing, you will probably want to use a layer of RTV or silicon sealant to improve waterproofing.
