Description

Description:

This model represents a low-poly stylized Lamassu (also known in Persian mythology as Gopat Shah). It is a majestic protective deity, depicted as a hybrid creature with a human head (symbolizing intelligence), a massive bull’s body (symbolizing strength), and large eagle’s wings (symbolizing speed).

History & Symbolism: Originating in ancient Mesopotamia (Assyria), the concept of the Lamassu was adopted and elevated by the Achaemenid Empire. this specific design is based on the monumental guardians of the Achaemenid Empire (c. 550–330 BC). Around 475 BC, King Xerxes I ordered the construction of the "Gate of All Nations" in Persepolis. The most famous examples are the colossal stone statues standing at the "Gate of All Nations" in Persepolis (Takht-e Jamshid). These massive figures were placed at entrances to act as eternal guardians, welcoming visitors while warding off evil spirits and enemies from the royal palaces.

Symbolism: Unlike the Assyrian versions which often had five legs, the Persian Lamassu is depicted with four legs, representing a more refined and naturalistic art style. They were believed to ward off evil spirits and bring stability to the kingdom.

This Low-Poly design captures the imposing and protective stance of this ancient guardian in a modern geometric art style.

Technical Details & Printing Tips:

  • Dimensions (1:1 Scale): 85mm (Length) x 38mm (Width) x 100mm (Height).

  • Layer Height: 0.1mm (High resolution recommended for sharp geometric edges).

  • Infill: 20% (Provides a good solid weight).

  • Supports: Set to Auto (Required for the wings and under the body).

  • Material: PLA+

  • Ironing: Enabled (recommended for smooth top surfaces on the base and wings).

Post-Processing: The model looks excellent when painted with metallic gold or aged stone acrylic paints to mimic the ancient original.
