Description
Playing dreidels for gelt is boring when you're just spinning them randomly and hoping to get better letters! Instead, compose a bottom, shaft, and multiple modules together to construct your own battle dreidel, then battle your foes for supremacy! The dreidel that lasts the longest wins.
Two versions, for right-handed screw direction (standard) and left-handed screw direction. Pick the lefty if you prefer to spin the dreidels counter-clockwise.
A spinning top arena is highly recommended to force dreidels into collision. I used a cheap Beyblade arena.
With no letters, these are technically just spinning tops, not really dreidels. Oh well, at least one of the modules is star-of-david-shaped.
Highly recommended but not required - 10mm metal ball bearings as weights. I used https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07SYY2SY4.
The flail module (see below) requires a string or a thin chain. I used https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09XV6SMNW.
All parts are trivial to print and are already in print orientation.
The shafts are prone to breaking in the hands of overeager teens. Use extra perimeters and/or high infill.
The flail module is composed of one central module and 4 "cups".
You really have to use weights for this one (see above). Put one in each cup.
To connect the central module with the four cups, follow the diagram below - notice it required only one tie-off point. Keep the cups not too far from the central module, 3-4cm will do.
