Description
My brother-in-law is a HUGE LEGO fan. So I found the original Giant Wreath print for a Christmas present for him. I was looking at the remixes, and I noticed that there were several that looked really cool including this snowflake remix. However, when I printed it, I realize that it was larger than I wanted for the print. I also noticed that it had some issues with the overhangs on the bottom. It's not the end of the world, but I thought I could make it a little more printer friendly, while making it a little smaller and adding a few details.
So I decided to do a remix with the following criteria:
Make it easier to print with no supports.
Size it to be relative to the studs in the original design.
Make a LEGO and plain variant so it can be customized in the slicer with individual names.
Scaled to the 200% size recommended in the original design.
I used Polymaker ASA for the original Wreath branches and Polymaker HT-PLA for the snowflakes. I had the right colors I needed for in the HT-PLA and supposedly it is weather resistant, so I figured I'd try it. I'd generally recommend ASA or some other Outdoor safe filament if you intend to hang this outside, but I think it will print well regardless of what filament you use.
If there are any improvements that can be made, please let me know. I'm sorry that I didn't post this earlier in the season, but I figure it'll be winter for a while still if people want to give it a try.
