Description
This adjustable leveling plate is designed to create a perfectly flat reference surface using adjustable feet.
It was originally developed for IMU calibration on drones, but it is equally useful for many other precision tasks where a level surface is required.
In the original setup, the adjustable feet are mounted to a plywood sheet using screws, providing a rigid and stable base.
However, the design is flexible and allows the feet to be mounted to other flat materials such as a metal plate or a glass sheet.
When using smooth, hard materials, the feet can conveniently be attached using strong double-sided tape, making the setup fast, reversible, and non-destructive.
By adjusting the feet, the platform can be precisely leveled using a spirit level or digital inclinometer, making it ideal for calibration, testing, and setup work.
IMU calibration for drones and UAVs.
Sensor calibration (gyros, accelerometers, compasses).
Electronics assembly and testing.
Workshop leveling tasks.
Photography, scanning, or measurement setups.
Adjustable feet for precise leveling.
Compatible with plywood, metal, glass, and other flat surfaces.
Can be mounted using screws or double-sided tape.
Stable and rigid design.
Easy to print and assemble.
Tested and printed with Hyper PLA 0.12mm, 3 perimeters and 15% infill, which proved to be more than sufficient for rigidity.
No supports required.
Increase infill or wall count if you plan to use heavier reference plates.
Threaded inserts or printed threads can be used depending on preference.
