Description
I recently bought a few "waterproof" switches for a project. The switches were like these: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CPY6FM4B They came with a switch mount sized for a 29mm hole. Please see the pictures, the black plastic components are the ones that were provided.
I really didn't like the way they held the switch. They were wobbly and retention was poor - you could easily push the switch out of the mount just attaching the wires. The final shortcoming was that the nut used would jump threads when you attempted to securly tighten the mount into place.
I drew up a replacement to try to remedy these shortcomings. My mount is intended for a 30mm hole. The threads are a bit more course to help the thread grip during tightening. The model provides for better stability and retention of the switch. It takes firm pressure to seat the switch in the mount and it takes equally firm pressure to remove the switch from the mount.
I am providing two versions, one with a circular flange and one with a hex flange. If you have difficulty maintaining switch orientation during tightening using the round flange, the hex may help.
I recommend a layer height of 0.2mm or less for thread quality. Print in the native orientation with supports from the build plate.
