Description
Rasher (DE: Ede) is a neighbour from the game Animal crossing which I modeled, printed and painted. Rasher is a pig with a grumpy personality. I used the version of his house from New Horizons.
I used a good light source to see the correct color. I used acrylic paint for all the painting. | The most important tool I used is the wet plate, I build out a wash cloth and baking paper. | This is the final color I used to paint Rasher. |
|---|
I began the process with the main color. | I always checked for the color reference on the wiki page. |
|---|
For the fine details of the pineapple, I 3D printed a template and tested it on a different model. After some tries, I had a working process. So try to train a little bit before starting.
I modeled a special baseplate with a diameter of 70mm that should display the house of Rasher with the iconic manhole cover from the game. I also add the floor parking marks. Furthermore, I added some cracks to the concrete to show the old and broken down building Rasher is living in.
For the tail, I used a thin electrical wire. This cable got wrapped around a M3 screw and fixed for 24h. I pre-painted the tail with a longer length and cut it to the appropriate size. | I used a hot glue gun to fix the tail to the model and painted over the hot glue and the tail. |
|---|
The final figure was fixed inside a glass bottle with an opening diameter of 70mm. The base can be mounted inside without any added materials. I used this model as a lid.
The final model looked really nice and had quite some color to it. I really enjoyed building and painting it. For all the process, I think the wet plate and some good paint brushes are the most important tools.
I hope you enjoy the design and find it useful!
