Description
How it works:
This tool uses two pointers that when clamped to a screwdriver, allows the screwdriver to rotate the exact angle that the rocker arm adjusting screw needs to rotate, in order to obtain the desired engine valve clearance of 0.10 mm or 0.004" on a typical air-cooled Porsche 911. Please verify clearance for your particular model. This tool only works on the above specified clearances.
How to Use:
Turn the rocker screw until you have zero clearance and then set one leg of the pointer to any convenient reference point. Lock the tool to the screwdriver and then rotate counter-clockwise until the 2nd leg lines up with the reference point. Tighten rocker lock nut and verify clearance with feeler gages.
Notes:
a.) As always the screwdriver hole is intentionally a bit smaller to allow you to drill or ream it out to fit the screwdriver you plan to use.
b.) Depending on the accuracy of your printer you may need to run a 6 x 1.0 tap through the hole to clean up the printed threads.
c.) Use any 6 x 1.0 metric bolt or grub screw to lock screwdriver to the tool.
