Description
This model is designed for the Edifier MR4 speakers. I wanted to mount them on my sim racing rig made from 40x40 mm and 80x40 mm Item (Type I) aluminum extrusion, but couldn’t find an appropriate solution.
With this mount, you can use a vertical 80x40 mm extrusion as the stand. The mount sits on top and is secured with two M8 screws.
If you remove the rubber feet from your Edifier MR4 speakers (which are randomly placed anyway), they will slide right into the mount.
To avoid the need for supports, the mount is printed in two parts: the base and the frame. The frame clicks into place, but you may want to add a few drops of superglue to ensure it stays securely attached.
I used black PLA with a layer height of 0.2 mm, which worked perfectly. Make sure to use at least three walls to give the part some extra strength.
Also, ensure that your printer is properly calibrated, as the tolerances are quite tight.
Note: I also uploaded this model to Cults3D as open-priced. Feel free to purchase it there if you found it useful... 😉
Keep on racing!
