Description
Burnishing tool for leather or similar projects that ends in a hex shaft for attaching to the chuck of a drill.
The default scale will fit into any drill with a chuck that accepts hex shats of at least 9mm but can be resized to be larger or smaller as required.
Print Notes
I recommend adding a 100% infil modifier around of the neck of the tool as this is the highest stress point along the layer lines. This is included in the .3mf file
I printed mine out of PETG at .2mm layers with 6 walls and 25% infill for a total of about 11g of filament. Probably a bit overkill, but I want it to withstand the heat and forces of use, so I wouldn't recommend going too lightweight.
I would also recommend using a little bit of sandpaper on the print the first time you use it to smooth out some of the layer lines where you are burnishing; otherwise, you might have some transferred lines on your finished pieces. but after a bit of use, it will naturally smooth out. In the example photo, it has been used for about 1 minute of sanding and 1 minute of burnishing and is working perfectly!
Files
I included the files for the .stl and the .3mf that contain the modifier volume for 100% infill.
Happy Printing!
