Description
We charge all our devices in the living room next to the couch, but the constant mess of tangled USB cables, and the search for the right one, quickly became frustrating. These cable outlets are our simple and clean solution.
By drilling a few 16 mm holes into the Mosslanda picture ledge from Ikea, these printed cable glands allow you to neatly feed USB cables through the shelf, keeping everything accessible, organized, and visually tidy.
There are two outlet variants:
Simple cable outlets, where the cable heads remain accessible and ready to plug in
Phone docking outlets, where you can slide in your phone while it charges. Attention: These outlets are designed with 11mm clearance for your phone and a specific usb c cable, so please check your needed dimensions before printing. On request I might be able to provide a parametric FreeCad file, but for now it's too messy to upload.
Both outlet types are secured from the underside with a printed nut, ensuring a tight and stable fit.
Of course, the outlets can be used with any board not just Mosslanda as long as the thickness is between 10 mm and 13 mm.
