Description
After converting my Switchwire (VS.643) to Dragonburner, I was disappointed to lose quite a lot of vertical build volume. This was due to an umbilical adapter for the EBB36 Gen 2 that mounts the CAN cable at a 90 degree (vertical) angle. This also puts added strain on the cable and requires a larger umbilical loop. It seemed to me that mounting the cable at 45 degrees, angled toward the base end, would require less cable, less vertical space, adn reduce strain.
I printed mine in PETG with 15% infill.
Install M3 x 0.5 x 4.0 brass inserts into the larger mount holes for the EBB36. Attach the part to the standoffs on the Ortbiter v2 extruder using M3 screws. Attach the EBB36 to the part. I installed mine without removing any connections to the board (but with the toolhead out of the printer).
Use a couple zip ties to secure the CAN connector.
