Description
Please see the original model for guidance and the full range of parts. Only modified parts are included here, not all which are needed.
The primary changes are to suit the Waveshare 7.5inch e-Paper HAT (H) (PiHut Link) since this is a slightly larger screen with a different driver board size compared to the original model/video, but other opinionated changes have been made (see listed differences in detail below).
There are portrait and landscape options for the front frame panel since the design has a draft angle at the base so it sits well on a surface when using a stand.
STEP files are attached alongside STLs, in case you want to import for further customization/editing.
When printing, pay attention to seam placement. Typically you'll want to ensure the seam runs along the base somewhere, where most out of view. When assembling, I found that placing a thin bit of cardboard between the screen panel and the back plate helped prevent any slack screen movement within the frame.
If following the original guide to install InkyPi, and using the Waveshare 7.5inch H-model screen, then you'll find that the required device driver file is not available for this screen when you need to run the InkyPi install script. InkyPi though does look for the driver locally first, so we can just add the required file to the correct location. Copy the "RaspberryPi_JetsonNano/python/lib/waveshare_epd/epd7in5h.py" file from the WaveShare ZIP files to "display/waveshare_epd/epd7in5h.py" within the InkyPi project folder, before running the install.
My photos are using SUNLU wood PLA for the frame, with Elegoo matte black PLA for the stand/back.
