Description
This is a more straightforward sibling to my 180° Stealth Concealed Hinge
I designed this version to be easier to print, easier to install, and very practical for things like folding table leaves, fold-out work surfaces, portable desks, lids, or any two panels that need a clean look with the hinge hidden inside a pocket.
The hinge mounts into a recessed cavity, so from the outside you only see a neat seam between the two panels.
Concealed / low-profile installation (clean exterior)
Simple mechanism (fewer parts than the stealth hinge)
Designed for flat-folding panel applications
No supports needed (prints cleanly)
Uses common hardware: 2 hinge pins/rods + 4 mounting screws
Material: PETG recommended (tougher, better long-term wear). PLA works for light-duty / prototypes.
Layer height: 0.2 mm
Perimeters: 4+
Infill: 30–50%
Supports: none
Print the parts flat as oriented in the STL.
Tip: If your printer tends to print holes tight, enable hole compensation (or lightly drill/ream after printing).
2× metal pins / rods with 3mm diameter and 30mm length - for the hinge axes (use the diameter that matches the model) - Locating Dowel or Cylindrical Pins
The hinge is meant to sit in a pocket/recess. Use the model to size the cavity.
Leave a small gap between panels so they don’t rub during rotation.
For larger/heavier panels, use multiple hinges spaced evenly.
Blue and gray parts are 3D printed
Black parts are Ø 3mm steel pins, it is necessary to ream the holes for the steel pins to an exact 3mm diameter
Ensure you have the correct pin lengths
