Description
The Halo series, developed by Bungie, holds a special place in my heart. Halo was one of the first games I got on console when I was younger, and I’d followed the series and many of the books for far longer than I’d stuck with most others. I’d decided to look into what replicas I could 3D print from the series... but, many of them out there didn’t quite have the features that I wanted from the models, so here is my own rendition of the classic Halo M6G magnum. I designed and printed this a few years back and in continuing my trend for the new year, am releasing it into the world.
Notice: This is a non-firing replica. It cannot shoot.
This is an iteration of a different replica I was making, the M6C/SOCOM pistol. If you want to check out my journey in designing and printing that replica, you can find that posted here.
The only real difference between the M6G and M6C/SOCOM is the text on the slide, the silencer in place of the shroud, and the size of the clip. Otherwise the models are essentially the same.
Note: Several pieces use sacrificial bridging that will need to be cut out. As well, PC-01 (Receiver Body Barrel) requires supports for how it prints and I've included several STLs with integrated supports. The two PC-01 parts also use 1.75mm filament as alignment pins for gluing together.
There are a number of screws and springs in the assembly of the model; all parts can be found in the Exploded Diagram that is included. If you need help with assembling the slide, see my blog post above where I have photos of the assembly along with some description.
